Calvin and Hobbes and imaginative relationships with animals

10/02/2019
I listened to a radio programme this week celebrating the work of Bill Watterson. It got me thinking about the relationship between the boy and his tiger and the imaginative 'play' that follows. I began to wonder if the animals in my paintings are something similar. I don't know exactly what the link could be but it is something to do with imagination and relationships within that realm that manifest as creatures. There are other child animal imaginative relationships in fiction maybe not so many in visual art but I think there is a link that I need to look into further.
My favourite Calvin and Hobbes quote.
